A good chunk of our work is new space. Garden rooms, garage conversions and extensions all need their own supply, their own protection and their own certificate, and they want designing at the start rather than retro-fitting once the plasterboard's up. We'll work out the load properly, run the submain, sort the sockets, lighting and heating provision, then test and certify the lot. We're happy to work alongside your builder or come in once the shell's up.
The rest is making the house you've already got work better. Consumer unit upgrades where the old fuseboard has had its day. Bespoke lighting installation and media wall lighting, where the wiring gets designed around the room instead of the other way round. Upgrading tired fittings to efficient LED. Faceplate uplifts, which take an afternoon and lift a whole room. And small jobs — an extra socket, an outside light, a circuit that keeps tripping. Plenty of firms won't turn out for those. We will.
Barry Thurston runs the business and works on the tools alongside the team, so the people who price your job are the people who turn up and do it. We're registered with NICEIC on the Domestic Installer scheme, which means our work gets notified to Building Control where the regulations require it, and Barry holds an ECS card as a JIB-graded Installation Electrician. Everything is wired to BS 7671, tested properly and certificated on completion. We carry £5 million public liability insurance and we're happy to send the certificate over before we start. Our workmanship is guaranteed for as long as the manufacturer's warranty runs on the parts we've fitted.
